Dear Members of the Regulatory Division:
Our nation’s energy security is at great risk. We are struggling with rising energy prices, tighter supplies and increased dependence on foreign imports, making it vital that the federal government allow for the thoughtful and appropriate use of our nation’s oil shale and tar sands resources.
Government estimates conclude that portions of Colorado, Utah and Wyoming contain at least 800 billion barrels of recoverable oil from oil shale – almost three times the volume of Saudi Arabia’s oil resources. I strongly support responsible development of these resources as outlined by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in its proposed regulations. Read more and sign letter
